Private Therapy · California

Psychotherapy shaped around the person, not a program

Private psychotherapy for accomplished professionals, entrepreneurs, executives, and others carrying demanding responsibilities, and for couples navigating complex relationships. Many of the people who come here function successfully in much of their lives while privately contending with anxiety, exhaustion, low mood, or strain they show to no one. The work here begins with that whole picture.

Private pay, no insurance trail

The practice does not bill insurance for private therapy, so no insurance record of your care is created, and every clinical decision stays between you and Dr. Nazarian.

Direct access, no handoffs

One relationship throughout: the psychologist you consult is the psychologist you work with ongoing, with no handoff to an associate or intake team. Current clients may contact Dr. Nazarian between sessions for scheduling and brief check-ins. Messages are not monitored for emergencies.

Virtual across California

Sessions are held by secure video, with in-person sessions available in West Los Angeles, so care continues wherever you are in California.

Why individualized care matters

Competence in public and difficulty in private are not opposites. They often coexist.

A person can lead a company, hold a family together, and meet every obligation in front of them while sleeping badly, bracing constantly, or feeling quietly depleted. Because the difficulty is private, it is easy to postpone addressing it, and easy for a standardized treatment to miss what is actually happening. Individualized psychotherapy works differently. Assessment considers your history, temperament, relationships, responsibilities, and the expectations you live under, and treatment is planned from that understanding rather than from a fixed protocol. The pace, the focus, and the depth of the work are adjusted as the work itself reveals more.

That kind of attention is not a promise of a particular outcome. It is a way of working: careful, personal, and honest about complexity.

Care for what you are actually carrying

The concerns below often arrive together.

Anxiety, chronic stress, depression & exhaustion

Sustained pressure has a psychological cost: vigilance that will not stand down, sleep that does not restore, mood that flattens behind a full calendar, and the emotional exhaustion of carrying responsibility without pause.

Trauma, PTSD & difficult experiences

Some experiences continue to operate long after they end, shaping reactions, relationships, and a person's sense of what is possible. Trauma-focused care here is careful and paced: understanding what happened, how it is still operating, and how it can be worked with over time.

Relationships, intimacy & communication

Demanding work and competing responsibilities strain even strong relationships. Individual and couples work addresses communication, conflict, emotional distance, and the rebuilding of intimacy, with both partners' experience taken seriously.

Identity, transitions & competing demands

Career changes, divorce, loss, children leaving, an exit or a new role: transitions rearrange identity and loyalties at once. Therapy provides a place to think a transition through deliberately, and to examine the expectations, your own and others', that you are living under.

Privacy, in practice

Privacy here is a set of working rules, kept in every session.

Nothing shared without written consent

Nothing about your care is shared without your written consent, except in the limited circumstances California law requires, which Dr. Nazarian reviews with you at the outset. That includes a referring attorney, concierge physician, family office, or executive coach.

Money questions, answered plainly

Private care should not come with private confusion about cost. Two answers, stated plainly.

Paying for the consultation

The discovery consultation is $100 for fifteen minutes, arranged after your inquiry by a texted IvyPay payment request. Nothing is ever paid on this site.

If you need to cancel

Appointments canceled with less than 24 business hours' notice are charged the full fee. Full policy on the Consult page.

Continuity of care, with depth behind it

You work with Dr. Nazarian directly, from the first consultation onward, and the care rests on clinical training and standards also trusted in forensic settings.

Licensed & credentialed

Psy.D.: Doctor of Psychology

Licensed Clinical Psychologist: California, PSY 30440

Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME): appointed for independent workers' compensation evaluations

Asked often. Answered honestly.

Question: What does the first consultation involve?

Answer: A conversation with Dr. Nazarian herself, by secure video: what brings you, whether the fit is right, and the practicalities, including fees for ongoing work, which are discussed privately and not published.

Question: I function well in most of my life. Does therapy still make sense?

Answer: Yes. Many clients here are capable and successful while privately dealing with anxiety, low mood, trauma, or relationship strain. Private difficulty is no less real for being well hidden, and addressing it does not require being in crisis.

Question: Where do I need to be for sessions?

Answer: Anywhere in California. Sessions are by secure video, with in-person sessions available in West Los Angeles, and because Dr. Nazarian is licensed in California, you need to be physically in the state at the time of the session.

Begin privately, decide calmly

If this sounds like the right setting for the work, begin with a consultation request.
